Drawn by Light
Lights, wires, computer control board; 30´ W x 40´ L
Drawn by Light transforms a darkened room into a living constellation of movement and illumination. The installation is composed of five freehand concentric circles made from 144 suspended light bulbs—each hanging at a unique height and controlled by a pre-programmed computer system. At any moment, only one light glows, tracing shifting paths of light through space. As the bulbs flicker on and off, they cast moving shadows of the viewer across the walls, evoking a flickering rhythm reminiscent of a zoetrope or a cosmic dance.
Stepping into this space is like entering a contemporary version of Plato’s cave—where darkness is punctuated by flashes of revelation. Each burst of light becomes a brief moment of awareness, a reminder of the fragile interplay between knowledge and mystery. The lights circle and spiral as if echoing the orbits of celestial bodies, illuminating the shared laws that connect light, movement, and life itself.
