Reflections explores the interplay between fragmentation, recomposition, and the search for underlying unity. Inspired by the concept of “unity within diversity” in Islamic art and architecture, these works echo the endless, repeating patterns found in tiled domes, facades, and mirrored interiors, where multiplicity reflects a singular, universal order. The patterns both veil and reveal, creating a dialogue between presence and abstraction.
In this series, photographs are taken in fragments and treated as individual “tiles” in a larger mosaic. Disjointed fragments are recombined to create compositions that suggest a broader space, image, or environment without replicating reality. This approach references traditional Persian miniature painting, where three-dimensional space is flattened into abstract patterns and geometric shapes. Reflections thus offers a reimagined vision of the world—a place where perception, memory, and geometry converge to evoke altered realities and hidden harmonies.
