Convergence

Paint on ashpalt; 32´Dia.

Convergence is a large-scale street mural that transforms an urban intersection into a vibrant symbol of connection. Composed of a stylized floral design radiating from a central point, the mural celebrates unity within diversity—honoring the beauty of many lives intersecting in shared community.

The piece reimagines the idea of a town square, turning a cross street into both a literal and poetic meeting ground. Two lines intersect; two lives touch. At their point of contact, they become one—a gesture that mirrors the ways neighborhoods grow, intertwine, and renew themselves over time.

The circular composition of leaves, branches, and blossoms speaks to organic growth and balance. Each form contributes to a harmonious whole, reflecting the rhythm of a healthy ecosystem and the social bonds that sustain a neighborhood. The design expands outward while also drawing inward toward its unseen center—an absence that gestures to something deeper: the invisible life force connecting all things.

Much like a seed containing the potential of a plant, Convergence points to that quiet source from which diversity unfolds. Though invisible, this essence—life itself—is what animates and unites us.

Created with the participation and support of the 56th Street neighborhood and the Bushrod community, this project was funded in part by Paint the Town. Special thanks to Terrence Sims for his video documentation of the work.
