What Do You Think?
Paint, Text; 10’H x 35’W
Across the neighborhoods of San Francisco, twenty-four murals appeared—each one shaped like a thought balloon, each one silently asking, What do you think? Created in collaboration with a group of teenage muralists, this citywide project turned the act of public reflection into a collective artwork. The texts, chosen and painted by the youth themselves, transformed ordinary walls into sites of dialogue and introspection.
Blurring the line between graffiti and philosophy, the project reframed street art as a space for civic thought. Pedestrians passing beneath each mural were invited, quite literally, to wear these words as their own—becoming participants in an ongoing conversation about identity, expression, and the public imagination. What Do You Think? is less an answer than an invitation: to look up, pause, and consider the power of thought made visible.
