Aquamano
Ink on rice paper; 24″H x 36″W
Aquamano, a term I coined from the Italian words for “water” and “hand,” is a printing process I invented that blends digital technology with hands-on technique. Using an inkjet print as a “printing plate,” each monoprint is hand-pressed onto delicate rice paper, producing a one-of-a-kind image that can never be exactly replicated.
Measuring 24″ x 36″, each work captures the delicate tension between ink flow and stability. Guided by hand, the process allows chance, gravity, and the fluidity of the medium to shape the final impression. The resulting landscapes feel soft, ethereal, and contemplative, completely masking their digital origins.
Through Aquamano, I explore the interplay of control and spontaneity, digital precision and handmade subtlety. Each piece becomes a meditation on movement, light, and the quiet poetry of natural forms, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between intention and chance.
