Impromptu

Acrylic on Canvas; 6′ x 8′

Impromptu delves into the dynamic interplay of color, shape, rhythm, and harmony within the realm of geometric abstraction. Each canvas is divided into simple, puzzle-like geometric shapes that fit together seamlessly, creating a unified whole. While the placement of these shapes may appear random at first glance, they form an intricate, underlying pattern—a subtle grid that harmonizes the entire composition.

Color in Impromptu is not static; it evolves with the viewer’s perception. One might notice red before orange, or teal before coral, shifting the way the composition is experienced. In this way, the observer becomes an active participant, completing the work and discovering a new version of the piece with every viewing. Much like musical improvisation on a fixed theme, each encounter highlights different colors, rhythms, and moods, making every experience uniquely personal.
