“Aquamano”; Ink on rice paper; 24″H x 36″W
Aquamano, derived from the Italian words for water and hand, is a printing process that utilizes an ink jet print as a “printing plate” to create a monoprint. They are 24″ x 36″, and printed on rice paper. Each image documents a unique combination of ink flow and stability, composed and controlled by hand, which results in soft impressions of the landscape suffused with a quiet and contemplative mood, that completely belies the image’s digital processing.
